STANDEX ACQUIRES APOSTLES PUBLISHING COMPANY

 

SALEM, NH, FEBRUARY 11, 1997 . . . Standex International
Corporation (NYSE:SXI) announced that it has acquired the
assets of Apostles Publishing Company of Fullerton,
California for an undisclosed amount of cash and royalties.
    In announcing the acquisition, Edward J. Trainor,
Standex's President and CEO, said "The acquisition of
Apostles Publishing provides our Standard Publishing group
with developed curricula and an entry into the Christian
school market which fits our plans for growth in that
market.  Standex publishes and markets religious educational
materials and magazines to the expanding Christian market
through its Standard Publishing division and operates a
chain of 22 Berean Christian bookstores throughout the
United States."
    Standex International, with sales for the fiscal year
ended June 30, 1996 of $563 million and operations in the
United States, Western Europe, Canada, Australia, Singapore
and Mexico, is a diversified manufacturer in three basic
growth areas:  Industrial Products, Graphics/Mail Order and
Institutional Products.
